A single gram of .9999 fine gold, struck by Valcambi Suisse and sealed in an assay card showing the refiner, weight, purity and serial number.
One gram bars are the smallest practical unit of investment gold. They are bought as gifts, as a first purchase, or simply to hold gold in an amount that can be moved on easily. The card format also makes them straightforward to store.
The premium here is high relative to the metal value, and buyers should be clear about why: refining, striking, packaging and certifying a one gram bar costs roughly what it costs for a much heavier bar, and that cost is carried by a single gram of gold. Anyone buying primarily for weight will do better with larger formats.
