How to Sell Gold Bars in Hong Kong

NGB Hong Kong Desk·Published ·Updated

Selling physical gold is straightforward when the product is recognized and the documentation is complete. Here is what to expect.

Prepare the product and paperwork

Gather the bars or coins, the original assay packaging where applicable, and your purchase invoice. Serial numbers that match the assay card make verification quick.

How a buyback price is formed

A buyback quote starts from the prevailing spot price applied to the weight and fineness of your item, adjusted for the product's current resale demand and condition. Widely recognized bars and sovereign coins usually quote closest to spot.

Verification

Expect non-destructive testing before a final price is confirmed. Sealed assay packaging generally shortens this step.

Settlement

Once price and quantity are agreed, settlement is arranged directly. Bring valid identification, as customer due diligence applies to larger transactions under the DPMS regime. Contact the NGB Hong Kong desk with the product, weight and quantity for an indicative quote.
